There are a lot of charity events these days – but as soon as I heard about ‘Cupcakes for Cancer’, I knew we were onto a winner! I’m so lucky to have a great bunch of happy friends who can share some bubbles and cheeky cupcakes, all for a good cause! There were some brilliant designs, and some that were very silly (thanks boys), and everyone had a great time. We’re looking forward to next year – some of our friends are already practicing… although I think that’s cheating!

I was inspired to hold my own ‘Cupcakes for Cancer, Donate & Decorate’ afternoon tea after my brother was diagnosed with Cancer and my sister-in-law Sara’s event was such a huge success!
I enlisted the help of my very organised and dynamic friend Camey. We invited a bunch of our friends over for an afternoon of Champagne & Cupcakes to raise money for such a worthy and personal cause for my family. Each person was asked to donate a minimum of twenty dollars on the day and we truly were amazed by the generosity and enthusiasm of our friends. Everyone had so much fun icing and decorating cupcakes in the knowledge that we were raising money for such an important and relevant cause that touches the lives of so many people. I know that many who attended will be hosting their own ‘Cupcakes for Cancer, Donate and Decorate’ in years to come and it’s fantastic to think that not only did WE raise nearly $1000, but we also inspired others to hold their own & raise more.
